Kitchen with Addition and Bathroom

This classic colonial home, built in the 1960's, had been beautifully maintained but suffered from a very tiny, but well-used, eat-in kitchen. The homeowner wanted to enlarge the kitchen and take advantage of views to a beautiful, backyard garden. The resulting kitchen/dining area addition includes a combination of cherry and painted cabinetry, a large, working island, many state-of-the-art appliances, hardwood floors, quartzite countertops and beautiful back splash tiling. In addition, the existing half bath was enlarged to full-size to allow future, main floor living.

Project Goals:

  1. Update kitchen with current appliances; separate oven
  2. Enlarge kitchen to take advantage of the beautiful garden views
  3. Provide a separate coffee/bar area
  4. Enlarge the existing half bath into a full-size main floor bathroom

Directions: From Broadway north take 14th Street NE east to 9th Avenue NE; take 9th Avenue NE to the end (it will turn to 17th Street NE).
